TSOP38238, IR Receiver Sensor, IR Infrared, 3v to 5v, 38KHz
The TSOP382 is a miniaturized IR Receiver diode that is widely used by engineers and hobbyist due to its low power consumption and an easy to use package. TSOP382 is compatible with all common IR remote control data formats so it can be used with common IR remotes. The operating voltage is from 2.5V to 5.5v so it can be used with both 3.3V and 5V power supplies.
The TSOP38238 is similar to a normal plastic-packaged transistor in size and suitable for all kinds of infrared remote control and infrared transmission. So if you are looking for an IR Receiver diode with low power consumption, then TSOP38238 might be the right choice for you.
How to Use TSOP38238
The application circuit diagram for the TSOP38238 IR Receiver module is given below. The Resistor R1 and Capacitor C1 are used to reduce the supply ripples. TSOP38238 consists of a PIN diode, a preamplifier, and an IR filter.
The receiver diode detects all frequencies of IR light, but the filter and only lets through IR at 38 kHz. Then the preamplifier modulates the signal and converts it to an electrical signal before sending it to a microcontroller.
Applications of TSOP38238
- Light detecting portion of remote control
- AV instruments such as Audio, TV, VCR, CD, MD, etc.
- Home appliances such as Air-conditioner, Fan, etc.
- Multi-media Equipment
